Las representaciones sociales del acontecimiento “aumento de VIH en Chile” desde el análisis del discurso.

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación busca analizar la construcción discursiva del acontecimiento “aumento VIH en Chile” en un corpus de prensa digital y de redes sociales, desde la perspectiva del Análisis del Discurso. El diseño metodológico utilizado es de tipo cualitativo y está basado en la selección y análisis de 119 textos periodísticos y 9 tuits. El análisis se basó en el desglose del acontecimiento según sus tres componentes (aumento, VIH y Chile) y en la interpretación de la nominación en su conjunto, considerando el cotexto, los mecanismos de correferencia y los conceptos asociados a la memoria interdiscursiva al objeto del discurso (VIH). Posteriormente, se determinaron los principales actores asociados a la responsabilidad del acontecimiento, para finalmente determinar las representaciones sociales de dichos actores. Los resultados señalan que la nominación tiene carácter predicativo y que no hay consenso en establecer las responsabilidades del acontecimiento, por lo que, dependiendo del posicionamiento del discurso gobierno-oposición, la responsabilidad varía. Por este motivo, los medios de comunicación poseen un rol fundamental en la difusión y forma de representación de los participantes en la esfera pública.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the discursive event “Increase of HIV in Chile” within a corpus of digital press and social media, from the perspective of Discourse Analysis. The methodological design employed is qualitative and is based on the selection and analysis of 119 journalistic texts and 9 tweets. The analysis focused on the breakdown of the event according to its three elements (increase, HIV, and Chile) and on the interpretation of the naming, considering the cotext, coreference mechanisms, and concepts associated with the interdiscursive memory of the discourse object (HIV). Subsequently, the main actors associated with the responsibility for the event were determined, in order to finally ascertain the social representations of these actors. The results indicate that the nomination has a predicative nature and that there is no consensus in establishing the responsibilities of the event, which vary depending on the government-opposition discourse positioning. For this reason, the media play a fundamental role in the dissemination and representation of the participants in the public sphere.
