Históricamente, estos terrenos fueron utilizados para cultivo y ganadería, pero actualmente presentan una alta fragmentación debido a la coexistencia de diversos usos, como infraestructura agrícola, forestal y residencial. La falta de planificación y accesos regulados ha generado una degradación ambiental significativa. Esta investigación propone desarrollar un plan de manejo que integre el humedal con la trama urbana mediante infraestructuras eco-amigables, como senderos elevados y pasarelas, minimizando el impacto humano. Además, se busca fomentar la educación ambiental y la concienciación comunitaria para promover su conservación. La implementación de estas estrategias permitirá una interacción sostenible con el humedal, asegurando su protección y funcionalidad ecológica a largo plazo.The Vegas de Coliumo wetland, located in the town of Coliumo within the municipality of Tomé, constitutes a key ecosystem that functions as a natural receptor of precipitation and contributes to the hydrological sustenance of the Coliumo stream. Historically, these lands were used for agriculture and livestock farming; however, they currently exhibit a high degree of fragmentation due to the coexistence of multiple land uses, including agricultural, forestry, and residential infrastructure. The absence of comprehensive planning and regulated access has led to significant environmental degradation. This study aims to develop a management plan that integrates the wetland into the urban fabric through eco-friendly infrastructure, such as elevated walkways and footbridges, thereby minimizing human impact. Additionally, it seeks to promote environmental education and community awareness to foster conservation efforts.
