La Traducción del Registro Coloquial en La Vie Scolaire (2019).
(Universidad de Concepción, 2023) Aliaga Arevalo, Javiera Maribel; Garidel, Carole
The present study aims to determine which audiovisual translation (AVT) modality, subtitling or dubbing, manages to maintain to a greater extent the use of the colloquial register in the Spanish translation of the film La vie scolaire (2019). For this, 123 representative segments of the colloquial register in the film were selected and an instrument was designed to evaluate to what degree the colloquial register was maintained in each modality in relation to the original. This allowed us to obtain a value for the translation of each segment in subtitling and dubbing and thus compare their frequency. The results obtained indicate that dubbing was the AVT modality that managed to maintain the colloquial register to a greater extent. However, there were also many neutralizations of this register, so it can be stated that although there was a modality that managed to transmit this register to a greater extent, both had a great loss of the features of the original.
