Abstract
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo estudiar la pre factibilidad de un proyecto de inversión en una máquina procesadora de chatarra metálica en la Compañía Siderúrgica Huachipato desde las perspectivas técnica, económica y medioambiental. La base de la evaluación del proyecto corresponde a la justificación teórica del uso de chatarra ferrosa procesada como materia prima en el proceso productivo. En relación a la maquinaria escogida, se describe su funcionamiento en forma detallada posterior a un estudio de mercado realizado para averiguar empresas comercializadoras así como también empresas que vendan chatarra ferrosa procesada (esto último, corresponde a una situación sin proyecto). Posteriormente, se realiza una evaluación económica determinando que es económicamente viable para la empresa la adquisición de una máquina procesadora, no así el comprar chatarra procesada a proveedores. Para la alternativa seleccionada, se necesita de un equipo con una capacidad de procesamiento de 68 (𝑡/ℎ), donde el monto total de inversión inicial asciende a 2.950.000 (𝑈𝑆𝐷) y el VAN correspondiente es de 9.486.952 (𝑈𝑆𝐷) con una tasa de descuento de 𝑖 = 7,15%. Además, desde las perspectivas técnica y medioambiental también se obtienen conclusiones positivas que hacen que sea recomendable la continuación del estudio en niveles más profundos de información.
The aim of the present work is to study the pre-feasibility of an investment project in a metal scrap processing machine at Compañía Siderúrgica Huachipato from a technical, economic and environmental perspective. The basis of the project evaluation corresponds to the theoretical justification of the use of processed ferrous scrap as raw material in the production process. In relation to the chosen machine, its operation is described in detail after a market study carried out to find marketing companies, as well as companies that sell processed ferrous scrap (the latter corresponds a situation without a project). Subsequently, an economic evaluation is carried out, thus determining that is economically viable for the company to acquire a processing machine, but not buying processed scrap from suppliers. For the selected alternative, an equipment with a processing capacity of 68 (𝑡/ℎ) is needed, where the total amount of initial investment amounts to 2.950.000 (𝑈𝑆𝐷) and the corresponding VNA is 9.486.952 (𝑈𝑆𝐷) with a discount rate of 𝑖 = 7,15%. Furthermore, from the techical and environmental perspectives, positive conclusions are also obtained that make it advisable to continue the study at deeper levels of information.
