Abstract

The results showed that the combination of biochar and earthworms modified the structure and physical properties of the soil, while the application of biochar alone had no significant impact. On the other hand, the exclusive use of earthworms demonstrated a greater impact on modifying physical properties and soil aggregation. Additionally, a physical quality evaluation model was used, which revealed that the treatment with earthworms improved soil quality from "low" to "medium" in the short term. These findings suggest that 2 incorporating earthworms into the soil is an effective strategy to improve its physical quality.
