Abstract
The objective of this study es lo evaluate the relationships between the well-being, burnout and work engagement of teachers and the number of enrolled students and the vulnerability indices of each educational establishment in the commune of Cauquenes. In addition, the aim is to measure the levels of well-being, burnout, and engagement of the participating teachers, and finally to identify well-being factors that may influence burnout and engagement. A sample of 223 teachers from the Cauquenes commune was drawn from different educational institutions and a measurement of well-being, burnout and engagement was carried out. To do this, specific measurement instruments were used, such as the MBI-ES, UWES-9, and a teacher well-being scale. The results of this study reveal that older teachers exhibit higher levels of engagement and lower levels of burnout, while younger teachers show lower levels of engagement and higher levels of burnout. Likewise, it is observed that educational establishments with greater number of enrolled students and those that focus on secondary education have lower levels of well-being. On the other hand, teachers who focus on secondary education show lower levels of well-being compared to other groups. The correlation between the aspects that make up well-being and levels of burnout and engagement is moderate. The multiple linear regression analysis reveals that the socioeconomic aspect and the work activity aspect predicts dimensions that make up burnout and engagement, compared to the other aspects of objective well-being. Focusing on these aspects according to the impact they have on burnout and engagement by educational organizations could help increase engagement levels and reduce burnout levels in teachers. This study offers a comprehensive vision between the characteristics of educational establishments and teacher well-being, providing a basis for the implementation of specific interventions that contribute to improving the quality of education and the well-being of professionals in the education field.
