The continuous increase in populations of resistant ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and the scant research on its control in wheat crops (Triticum aestivum) in thefoothills of Ñuble has led to the need to evaluate and demonstrate the effect of new herbicides with different mechanisms of action for control of ryegrass. In this study, the effectiveness of three herbicides in a winter wheat crop and their effect on yield and yield components were evaluated. Different combinations of three herbicides were evaluated: pre-emergence Pendimetalin (PENpre), pre and post-emergence Flufenacet + Flurtamona + Diflufenican (FFDpre/FFDpost), and Pinoxaden as a complementary post-emergence (Pin), with a total of seven treatments: PENpre, PENpre+Pin, FFDpre, FFDpre+Pin, FFDpost, FFDpost+Pin, and a control. In weed control, FFDpost produced the best results (56 pl m-2 population and 135.12 g m-2 dry matter, with and without Pin, respectively), different from the control, but not from the rest of the treatments. The highest yield was with FFD, without differences between them (9,60 - 11,03 t ha-1), with compensatory effects in the yield components. Under these conditions, the new herbicide (PENpre) did not present a great advantage over FFD but should still be considered as it presents a different mechanism of action.en
