Abstract
The research is framed in urban processes and soundscapes of urban wetlands. Considering approaches on soundscape, urban green infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and sensory urbanism. It proposes that with the growth of cities, the increase of noise pollution and the deterioration of natural areas of high ecological value, the sound expression of these places and their soundscape is also deteriorated, which brings negative consequences for our well-being and for the ecosystems. The problem is to find out if there is a way to integrate through urban design guidelines the protection of these wetland soundscapes in the face of urbanization processes, in the case of the nature sanctuary Humedal Los Batros, in San Pedro de la Paz. This is an exploratory project-type study, with a mixed methodological approach, inhabitants and visitors of 2 places within the Nature Sanctuary were interviewed, audio recordings were made of relevant areas in the soundscape, identified in the interviews, species recorded in these audios were identified, and in these same areas level recordings were made. The soundscapes of nature provide tranquility, there are listening areas with an important presence of vocalizing species, but these same places in the wetland are permanently exposed to road traffic noise.
