Item Oferta Sanitaria y Percepción de Profesionales de Salud, Usuarios y Familiares sobre los Servicios de Salude Inclusión Social de Personas con Trastorno Mental Grave en Ecuador.(Universidad de Concepción., 2022) Gamboa Proaño, Marco Antonio; Saldivia Bórquez, SandraBackground. In order to address mental health problems in Ecuador, a decentralized, participatory, comprehensive, continuous and preventive health system is required to reduce psychosocial barriers found in society. To speak of mental health problems is also to speak of mental disorders, and within these we have serious mental disorders, which for this work we understand according to the definition proposed by Slade, who bases his definition on the dimensions of: diagnosis, duration, disability, safety and formal and informal support (SIDDD). The mental health supply for people with severe mental disorders is what is described in this study, for which the theoretical framework proposed in the mental health matrix is taken as the theoretical framework. Objective. To describe the existing resources in Ecuador's health network, and to analyze the perceptions of health professionals, users and family members about the services and social inclusion of people with severe mental disorders. Method. This research was conducted through a partial simultaneous mixed design with dominant state. To collect information on health services, the 5 DESDE-LTC instrument applied to health service officials in health zones 8 and 9 was used; information on perceptions of social inclusion was collected through semi-structured interviews, applied to mental health professionals, users with severe mental disorder and their family members. Results. The results obtained in zones 8 and 9, show a low number of mental health facilities that can be classified according to the DESDE-LTC tool, thus, 32 health facilities offer outpatient care, twelve (12) in zone 8, the remaining twenty (20) in zone 9, had more than one coding so some of these same health facilities coded for outpatient, day and residential care. The rate of mental health professionals in zone 8 was 0.96 psychologists, 0.46 psychiatrists and 0.39 nurses and other professionals per100,000 inhabitants, while in zone 9 a rate of 2.66 psychologists, 2.11 psychiatrists and 1.15 nurses and other professionals per100,000 inhabitants was identified. Another of the results evidenced in this study is the presence of stigma among mental health professionals, family members of people with a serious mental disorder and the users themselves, which hinders their social inclusion. Conclusions. The study conducted in zones 8 and 9 revealed the scarce health supply for the care of people with severe mental disorders. It was observed that people with a severe mental disorder perceive that they do not have the same opportunities as the rest of the population, which limits their social inclusion in the community.
