Abstract
El fenómeno místico se entiende como una experiencia profunda y límite de la realidad, donde el ser humano llega a un estado de conciencia tal que trasciende los conceptos ordinarios con los que entendemos el mundo. Dicha experiencia sugiere una noción de la realidad según la cual existe un orden subyacente a los fenómenos físicos (la realidad fundamental) y diferente a los mismos, donde todo se mantiene unido, y la fragmentación -rasgo fundamental de nuestra experiencia cotidiana- sobre todo manifestada en la diferencia entre mente y materia resulta insustancial.
Esta concepción de la realidad encuentra un marco teórico en una cierta comprensión de la teoría del monismo neutral (MN) y la teoría del monismo de doble aspecto (MDA), las cuales parecen introducir una visión de la realidad que hace posible la comprensión de lo que revela el fenómeno místico. Según estas teorías, la realidad fundamental (estado óntico) resulta inaccesible según nuestros medios de observación ordinarios. De modo que sólo a partir de la experiencia mística es posible penetrar en la misma. De lo contrario, solamente podemos acceder a la forma parcial o local en que llega a manifestarse a través del mundo fenoménico: lo mental y lo físico (estados epistémicos).
The mystical phenomenon is understood as a profound and limitless experience of reality, where the human being reaches a state of consciousness such that it transcends the ordinary concepts with which we understand the world. This experience suggests a notion of reality according to which there is an order underlying physical phenomena (fundamental reality) and distinct from them, where everything is held together, and fragmentation -a fundamental feature of our everyday experience- especially manifested in the difference between mind and matter - is insubstantial. This conception of reality finds a theoretical framework in a certain understanding of the theory of neutral monism (NM) and the theory of double aspect monism (DAM), which seem to introduce a vision of reality that makes possible the understanding of what the mystical phenomenon reveals. According to these theories, fundamental reality (ontic state) is inaccessible according to our ordinary means of observation. Thus, it is only through mystical experience that we can penetrate it. Otherwise, we can only access the partial or local form in which it manifests itself through the phenomenal world: the mental and the physical (epistemic states).
