Abstract
The following investigation was carried out under Method 3, Submethod A, of the Degree Program of the Education Department at Concepcion University. This method consists of a curricular and didactic proposal design, accompanied by pedagogical reflection. In this frame, the main objective of the investigation was to elaborate a didactic-methodological proposal for teaching and valuing the Afro-descendant Chilean Tribal Community and the Tumbe Carnaval Rhythm aimed at students in 6th grade. The proposal was a book composed of resources and activities, organized progressively, designed to develop musical, social, and emotional skills through active strategies, and culturally appropriate to the school context. The methodology was a qualitative mixed focus. For this purpose, an inquiry was conducted among musicians, percussionists, and teachers from the region. In order to learn about their perceptions of the teaching of the Afro-Latin American rhythm. Currently, an exhaustive review of the specialized literature, a deep analysis of the current state of musical education in Chile, and a revision of the sixth-grade study program are underway. The results allow us to formulate and structure a didactic book that presents historical, cultural, and musical knowledge of the Chilean Tribal Community in a clear and methodical manner. This material was created to complete the school curriculum and to be adapted for classroom or extracurricular activities.
