Abstract
Introduction: The SARS Cov-2 pandemic has caused health disruptions, and in the food security of the most vulnerable families. Difficulties in infrastructure and government orders to slow the spread of the virus are influential. Objective: To describe the main effects of the SARS-COV 2 pandemic that could affect the food security of vulnerable groups in Latin America and Chile. Methodology: A literary review was carried out through databases and reports, mainly Google Scholar, PubMed, Scielo, FAO and CEPAL. The inclusion criteria were documents published between 2020 and 2021, through international organizations in charge of evaluating food systems, the economy and health; before and during the SARS-Cov 2 Pandemic, comparing them with publications of 2016 and 2017. Results: From the documents analyzed, it was identified that the greatest impact, within the agricultural transmission channels in Latin America and Chile, was on growth, exports, employment and price level of the food system. Conclusion: Food security presented tipping points, such as transmission channels, which were more compromised as a result of the SARS CoV 2 pandemic.
