| dc.description.abstract | In order to observe the effect of water availability in the soil on the yield and physiological characteristics of the plant, a test was carried out with quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa willd), Morado genotype, at the University of Concepción, Chillán campus, 2015 -2016 season. The genotype was subjected to five levels of availability of usable water in the soil for the plant (AW) prior to irrigation (100%, 70%, 40%, 20%, 0%) in the phenological period from the beginning of grain filling to physiological maturity. The study evaluated grain yield and its antioxidant capacity, foliar water potential, soil moisture and stomatal resistance for the Morado genotype. It was observed that the highest grain yield was obtained on the treatment that maintained 100% AW (T100), where 3.69 t ha-1 were achieved, 26.8% higher than the treatment that did not receive irrigation during the study period (T0) and obtained the lowest performance. Regarding the analysis of antioxidant capacity in the grain, there was a greater amount of antioxidants for the treatment that before irrigation reached 20% AW (T20), where 19.6 umol g-1 was obtained. The equilibrium point between yield and quality was achieved with the treatment of 40% AW (T40), with a grain yield of 3.58 t ha-1 and rate of antioxidants of 16 umol g-1. | en |
