Abstract

This refers to the perception that a person has of himself, and in adolescence, this perception is in constant formation, affected by multiple factors. In this context, the subject of Visual Arts plays a crucial role as it not only encourages creativity but also offers students a means of self- expression. However, the globalized and digital environment in which we live presents significant challenges. Constant exposure to social networks and digital platforms can distort young people's perception of their own identity. The idealized images and beauty standards promoted in these spaces can lead to constant comparison and feelings of insecurity. The review of theories suggests that teachers must be prepared to face these changes and needs. Incorporating the arts into the classroom not only enriches the curriculum, but also provides students with tools to navigate their identity in a digital world.
