Abstract
This document describes how the pilot training program for women entrepreneurs in the circular economy of post-consumer plastic packaging was carried out. To carry out this, a specific segment of entrepreneurs who had experience developing their ventures and had good management of social networks was selected. During the training, the importance of the circular economy is highlighted as an approach to change the current production and consumption model towards one that is more efficient in the use of resources and the reduction of waste. In addition, the importance of access to training that adds value to the income of female entrepreneurs is addressed, in line with the SDGs related to quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth. A training program is proposed for adults that seeks to promote comprehensive development, provide knowledge and skills for job performance, and be based on the principles of andragogy, which promote horizontality, participation and flexibility in the learning process. Finally, given that the participants were highly committed to the content and techniques presented during the training, they expressed a strong interest in being part of future larger-scale training programs. Likewise, they expressed their intention to apply the knowledge acquired in their respective businesses. It is evident that the contribution to the circular economy has been validated, boosting the local economy through the management of post-consumer plastic waste and adding value to their business models.
