Abstract
Generating biodiesel from used vegetable oil (UVO) is an attractive business option since it is aligned with environmental decontamination and the search for new non-conventional energy alternatives for sustainable productive development. Reason why, this research focused on analyzing the feasibility and operation of UVO collection for the production of biodiesel, with the objective of designing a logistics chain adapted to the various actors involved, in this way it was possible to define and design a specific logistics chain for the UVO, which allowed us to generate proposals for improvements in collection, storage and distribution management, using the concepts of circular economy and reverse logistics used in recycling. As a result, the lack of an integrated logistics chain for the UVO, was identified, therefore, through the design of the logistics chain, the aim is to efficiently manage the collection, storage and distribution of the UVO in such a way that allows the economic feasibility of the business.
