Abstract
El presente trabajo tuvo como propósito analizar alternativas productivas para la empresa Denecan, dedicada a la producción de maíz en la región de Ñuble, con el fin de mejorar su competitividad y rentabilidad. El objetivo general fue diseñar un plan estratégico basado en liderazgo en costos, mientras que los objetivos específicos fueron contextualizar a la empresa dentro del entorno actual del rubro agrícola, realizar un diagnóstico estratégico interno y externo, y proponer estrategias concretas de mejora. Se emplearon herramientas de análisis estratégico como el modelo de las cinco fuerzas de Porter, el análisis PESTEL, VRIO y FODA, considerando factores que inciden en la eficiencia y sostenibilidad de la empresa. Se identificaron desafíos relacionados con altos costos operativos, dependencia de insumos importados y baja tecnificación. Como resultado, se formuló un plan estratégico centrado en reducir costos a través de mejoras en la mecanización, uso eficiente de insumos y fortalecimiento de canales de comercialización. Se concluyó que la implementación de esta estrategia permitiría a Denecan aumentar su eficiencia, reducir su vulnerabilidad externa y consolidar su posición competitiva en el mercado nacional del maíz.
This study aimed to analyze productive alternatives for the company Denecan, which is dedicated to maize production in the Ñuble region of Chile, with the goal of improving its competitiveness and profitability. The general objective was to design a strategic plan based on cost leadership, while the specific objectives were to position the company within the current agricultural sector context, conduct an internal and external strategic diagnosis, and propose concrete improvement strategies. Strategic analysis tools were employed, including Porter’s Five Forces model, PESTEL, VRIO, and SWOT analyses, considering factors that influence the company’s efficiency and sustainability. Challenges identified included high operational costs, dependency on imported inputs, and low levels of mechanization. As a result, a strategic plan was proposed, focused on cost reduction through improved mechanization, efficient use of inputs, and strengthening of marketing channels. It was concluded that the implementation of this strategy would enable Denecan to increase efficiency, reduce external vulnerability, and strengthen its competitive position in the national maize market.
