Abstract
El presente estudio se realizó en el canal “Santa Rosa” del Campo Experimental Santa Rosa del CRI Quilamapu, perteneciente al Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA), que capta 200 acciones de agua desde la ribera sur del río Ñuble en el sector nor-este de la comuna de Chillán, de las cuales el 50% son de propiedad de INIA. Tiene como objetivos determinar los principales problemas hidráulicos que afectan la eficiencia de conducción del canal, determinar y diseñar las obras que se deben construir, reparar o eliminar para mejorar su conducción, y establecer los costos de los trabajos considerados. La metodología contempló la ejecución de un diagnóstico inicial, que incluyó un perfil longitudinal completo del canal y transversales en puntos relevantes, ubicando las estructuras existentes, dos series de aforos, y el análisis de los datos fluviométricos, para posteriormente diseñar y confeccionar los planos de las obras a ejecutar. El diagnóstico, realizado en la temporada agrícola 1999 – 2000, permitió determinar las principales causas de pérdidas de agua: pendiente irregular de la rasante inferior del canal (sectores con embanques), presencia de vegetación en el perímetro hidráulico, taludes y áreas adyacentes, filtraciones en estructuras y taludes, falta de estructura de aforo y regulación del caudal entrante. El caudal de diseño del canal, de acuerdo al análisis hidrológico, es de 1,0 m3s-1; La propuesta de mejoramiento considera uniformar la pendiente de la rasante inferior del canal, construir y reparar revestimientos en algunos sectores de éste y construir una estructura de aforo y regulación del caudal entrante, siendo ésta la obra de mayor costo e importancia. El costo total del proyecto de mejoramiento asciende a la suma de $ 27.118.916.- equivalente a UF 1.618 (valor UF al 09/12/2.002, corresponde a $ 16.756,01).
This study was done in the Santa Rosa Channel of the Santa Rosa Experimental Center of the Quilamapu-INIA Agriculture Research Institute. The intake structure for this channel is located at the left side of the Ñuble river at the North-West of Chillán, Chile. There are 200 water rights for this channel; half of them belong to the Agricultural Research Institute. The main objective of this research was to determine the problems that affect the efficiency of water conveyance, and as a consequence to determine and to design the appropriate hydraulic structures that must be built, repaired or removed to improve operational efficiency. A diagnosis of the initial situation was done , where a longitudinal surveyed profile of the channel and transversal sections were taken, including actual hydraulic structures. Water flow was measured at two dates, and hydrological techniques were used to generate fluviometric data series and to design the proposed hydraulic structures. The diagnosis was performed during the spring and summer season of 1.999 - 2.000. Field data showed slope irregularities in the channel, presence of vegetation on the hydraulic perimeter and adjacent areas, deficient side slopes, water losses in the channel structures, lack of gauging water flow structures and regulation of water inflow as the main reasons of water loss by the channel. If all proposed improvements such as a uniform longitudinal slope, construction and repair of hydraulic structures, and appropriate water flow measurement stations are done, optimal capacity for the channel may be increased from 0,09 m3.s-1 during summer season to 1,0 m3.s-1. The most important and expensive structure to be built is the water flow intake and measurement station. The total cost of the proposed project is $ 27.118.916, equivalent to U.F. 1.618 (1 U.F.=Ch$ 16.756,01. at 09/12/2.002).
