Abstract

In the following research the effect of UV-C (254nm) Light on B. cinerea Sample was analyzed on the blueberry surface (V. corymbosum L.) cv Brigitta and the changes in the Antioxidant Capacity of the fruits were evaluated. For this thee Experiments were made by using the source of UV-C (254nm) Light, to two Mercury lamps of 40W (each one). In the First Experiment were used times of 0, 15, 30, 60, 120 and 180s of exposure located at 5 cm of height over fresh Blueberries. In the Second Experiment the mycelia growth of B. cinerea once exposed at times of 0, 1, 3, 5, 10 and 15min. In the Third Experiment the changes in the composition of Total Polyphenols and the Antioxidant Capacity were analyzed with exposure of 0, 1, 2, 3 and 5 minutes. The results showed that the UV-C (254nm) Light inhibit the development of B. cinerea. the surface of blueberries at higher times than 30s (2.4 kJ/cm2). It reduces the mycelia development of the B. cinerea. up to 72h (treatments performed) and increases the amount of Total Polyphenols at higher times than 5min (6kJ/cm²) of exposure.
