Expectativas, aspiraciones y motivaciones de jóvenes de la Universidad de Concepción en el retorno a la presencialidad: un análisis de las experiencias juveniles universitarias.

This thesis investigates the expectations, aspirations, and motivations of 13 students from the University of Concepción as they return to in-person learning following the pandemic. Through semi-structured interviews and an exploratory qualitative approach, the study examines the university experiences of young people, highlighting how virtual learning, the abrupt shift to online education, and the lack of socialization impacted their experiences. Additionally, their academic motivations have been reshaped, with a stronger emphasis on economic and job stability. The findings reveal that after the virtual learning period, students face new challenges in shaping their expectations and aspirations, showing a clear tendency towards short-term thinking, with a focus on personal and professional development, alongside a persistent concern about an uncertain job market. This study provides an initial insight into the transformations in youth subjectivities, shedding light on the complexities and challenges faced by this generation of young people.
